Reviews and News Source: Relix Magazine; selection from On The Verge: Eight artists you should know about by Mick Skidmore Seattle, WA; Yet another band that excels at acoustic-based music is Hanuman, a quartet with a more expansive sound than most. World beat elements are blended with bluegrass, jazz, funk and folk; you're likely to hear a West African rhythm or a subtle Middle Eastern modal lick here and there. The fact that the band is named after a Hindu monkey god shoud give you a clue that they might be a bit esoteric. Esoteric or not, Hanuman creates intoxicating music that it calls "Acoustic Free Funk Folk." It's certainly got my stamp of approval!
